TORONTO, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - Phil King, President of TSN, today appointed
Shawn Redmond to the position of Vice-President, Marketing. Reporting to King
and effective immediately, Redmond will oversee the overall consumer marketing
strategy for TSN and digital sports networks NHL Network and ESPN Classic.
In his role, Redmond is responsible for consumer advertising, on-air
promotions, communications, research and special events, helping TSN maintain
its brand strength and reinforce its position as Canada's Sports Leader.
Redmond will also manage relationships with TSN's various sports partners and

integration of the marketing team to deliver consistent and effective
strategic messaging. Over the past two years, Redmond has collaborated with
many high-profile sports properties including the NHL, CFL, Hockey Canada, NFL
and NBA to deliver co-branded campaigns that engage viewers and deliver
Prior to joining TSN, Redmond spent four years as Manager, Sponsorship
Marketing at RBC Financial Group (2001 to 2005), where he worked on
sports-related brand initiatives, including three national Olympic marketing
campaigns, and managed relationships with RBC's sports partners. Redmond also
worked at PCS Innovations (2000) as Manager, Business Development, building
sales channels for corporate partnerships.
Redmond's career began at Molson Canada (1996 to 2000), where he spent
four years working on sales and marketing programs.
A native of Toronto, Redmond graduated from Saint Mary's University in
Halifax with a Bachelor of Commerce and played semi-professional hockey in
Europe and the United States.
