LANGLEY, BC, March 20 /CNW/ - Shark Club is proud to announce that it has
been named the Best Sports Bar in Canada. Now in its third year, the
competition to select Canada's top sports bar is conducted online by Rogers
Sportsnet, with viewers from across the country logging on to vote for their
favourite watering holes.
Shark Club was selected from competing sports bars from coast to coast to
coast, and garnered a record number of votes as Canada's Best. In claiming the
title, Shark Club beat out finalists from Alberta (home of last year's
winner), New Brunswick, and Ontario.
"Canada has spoken. Shark Club is the best sports bar in the country and
truly has everything to make the game great," said John Teti, Shark Club
founder. "We would like to thank our valued guests in B.C.'s Lower Mainland
and our new fans across the country for casting their votes in our favour."
Bars entering the Sportsnet competition are required to submit a video
highlighting their strong points. Shark Club's video, narrated by a duo
bearing a striking resemblance to Ron MacLean and Don Cherry, appears to have
resonated with sports enthusiasts across Canada (see www.sportnet.ca).
Shark Club, one of Canada's premier sports bar & grills, opened its first
establishment in 1993. Now with seven locations, the Shark Club offers patrons
a place to enjoy the game or dinner and drinks in Victoria, Quesnel,
Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, and Saskatoon.
