VANCOUVER, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - What do social media, wine and cheese rolling
have in common? They are some of the ideas behind the latest trends in
marketing wine and cheese, and will be among the topics discussed in an
exciting Wine and Cheese event, hosted by the BC Chapter of the American
Marketing Association (BCAMA) on March 4, 2009 at the Vancouver Marriott
Pinnacle Downtown hotel.
The event, which includes a unique interactive expert-led wine and cheese
tasting followed by an open tasting, will feature a panel of experts that will
speak about how great wine makes farming (and farmers) sexy, how cheese became
king of the hill, and what your taste in cheese says about you.
Of particular interest, guest speaker Anthony Nicalo, founder of
Farmstead Wines, will be sharing his passion of bringing the farm to the table
by utilizing innovative social marketing. Guests will have an opportunity to
taste a wide selection of Farmstead's handcrafted international wines from
small sustainable farms - a rare event unheard of in Vancouver.
Other guest speakers include Calgary's Tim Hendrickson of Dairy Farmers
of Canada; Michael Mayes, Creative Director at TAXI Vancouver; and Nick Black,
Senior Associate at Concerto Marketing. Moderating the panel will be
award-winning wine writer James Nevison.
Guests who register by the early bird deadline of Friday, February 20,
2009 will be eligible to win an exclusive $1000 private wine and food tasting
led by Anthony Nicalo.
