TORONTO, May 30, 2011 /CNW/ - Pentimento Fine Art Gallery is proud to announce the upcoming exhibit of photography by G. Elliott Simpson. BROTHERHOOD is an exploration of duality and allegiance. The opening reception is June 2nd from 6 - 9 pm with the show running through to July 3rd, 2011.

Toronto-based G. Elliott Simpson has been shooting men drenched in black paint since he came out of a coma five years ago. His highly stylized photographs have been described as:

"focused to a large extent on juxtapositions, inversions, and ambiguity; on the one hand, eerie, morbid, cryptic, and on the other fetishistic, engaging and very cool. Some pieces are replete with a complex welter of feelings, others are remote, analytical and chilling, offering the troubling insight that we live in a world balanced on a knife's edge between horror and beauty."
