Samsung printers offer speed and functionality in compact packages

New CLP-310 series colour laser printers and CLX-3170 series
multifunction printers provide expanded options for home offices and
    small businesses

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - Samsung Electronics Canada, a leading
innovator in the world's technology industry, has raised the bar for home and
small office printing with the introduction of two new lines of printers.
The new CLP-310 and CLX-3170 series printers have been designed to offer
small businesses and home offices a new opportunity to increase available work
space and reduce clutter. With compact sizes slightly bigger than a breadbox
for both printer series, these new models are some of the smallest colour
laser and multifunction printers on the market and an ideal solution for those
requiring professional-looking prints at a low cost.
The CLP-310 series provides the user with superb colour laser quality
while the CLX-3175 printers offer users additional multifunction capabilities
including scanning and fax options.
"Realizing that economy of size does not have to affect quality, Samsung
has taken the advanced technology found in high-end model printers and
provided it in a compact packages," said Ron Hulse, Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, IT Division at Samsung. "Users can print documents at high
resolution and ultra-fast speeds offered in small and easily-stored units."
In addition to being compact, both the CLP-310 and CLX-3175 series offer
wireless capabilities. Where space is limited and printers can not always be
placed in within standard wire-length of a computer, those looking for a
clutter and wire-free environment will appreciate these printers. Both the
CLP-310 and CLX-3175 models keep sound at a minimum with whisper-quiet noise
levels of 45 and 47 decibels respectively, equivalent to that of a library.
This is a particularly useful feature for home-based business owners who tend
to print late at night while others are asleep.
"Ultimately what we've done is catered to the unique needs of small
offices and home offices, because their situations and requirements are much
more specific and often different from those of corporate offices," said
Hulse. "While a business may be small, most small business owners want to
present themselves as being equally as professional as the big guys, and this
new model allows them to do just while meeting their space requirements."
With consumers and businesses both looking for efficiency, the CLP-310
and CLX-3175 series meet these requirements with ease. Each model series start
up in less than 35 seconds with FPOT speeds of less than 14 seconds. As well,
the CLP-310 wireless model offers 32 megabytes of internal memory, allowing
users to send and store multiple, large print jobs to their printer without
having to wait for print jobs to be complete. The function increases
efficiency and prevents the over-consumption of memory, which can often result
in a computer crash that wipes away unsaved documents. The CLX-3175 series
provides users with 128 megabytes of internal memory, allowing for greater
storage functionality.
The CLP-310N, CLP-315 and CLX-3175FN are available in August for $239,
$199 and $449 respectively. The CLP-310N is available in August at Future
Shop, the CLP-315 and CLX-3175FN at Staples.
The CLP-315W and the CLX-3175FW are both available in August at Staples
for $279 and $449 respectively.
