Samsung bids conventionality adieu with sleek new line of printers

ML-1630 and SCX-4500 models herald a new era of design, form and
functionality in the laser printer market

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - No longer hidden away under the office
desk or making unsightly appearances above ground, Samsung Electronics Canada
has ushered in a new era of mono laser printers with its latest models, the
ML-1630 and SCX-4500. Furthering its foray into the world of innovation and
design, the consumer electronics leader has unveiled the slimmest, sleekest
and smallest printers in their class.
"Consumers today are more discerning and expect their technology products
to mesh with the existing aesthetics of their home or office environments,"
says Ronald Hulse, Vice President Sales & Marketing, IT Division, Samsung
Electronics. "With a higher standard of both design and functionality now
being the consumer norm, Samsung has introduced two innovative products that
will further cement the company's position in the laser printer market."
With a sleek and elegant silhouette, the ML-1630, a mono laser printer
and the SCX-4500, a multifunction printer, are evocative of a classic yet
modern era of design. The ML-1630 and the SCX-4500's combination of both form
and performance truly exemplify the perfect marriage of functionality and
aesthetics. The printers' high-gloss finishes were designed to immediately
attract interest while the blue LED-scan process indicators and button-less
sensors highlight their simplicity.
The world's slimmest mono laser printer, the ML-1630 is only 12cm thick,
two-thirds the size of most of its competitors. Unnecessary buttons were
removed and replaced with soft-touch sensors, allowing users to exercise the
menu more efficiently and effectively. Users can also easily clear a paper jam
with the custom-designed semi-auto docking slide-out cassette.
