Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation Winter Triathlon raises over $256,000

Pembroke Management wins first Pierre Boivin Award

MONTREAL, Feb. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Some 70 teams made up of the city's top
business, sports and entertainment personalities spent the day in friendly
competition on foot, skates and skis during the 3rd annual Sainte-Justine
Hospital Foundation Winter Triathlon. This year's event wildly exceeded its
goal by raising over $256,000 for the Sainte-Justine UHC perinatal unit.
"The Triathlon's 3rd edition was a great success on every level. We
surpassed our targets for participation and donations by a wide margin," said
Canadiens Hockey Club president and Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation board
chairman Pierre Boivin. "The Triathlon is a terrific opportunity for young
professionals, businesspeople and partners to get together, pool their
energies and their financial contributions and mobilize around a great
cause...for the love of children."
The Winter Triathlon includes skating, cross-country skiing and foot
races in four categories: Elite, Men, Women and Mixed. Teams consist of three
participants and one team captain, and each team pays $2,500 to the Foundation
to enter the event. This year's winners in the Elite category were Nadia
Coiteux, Jonathan Guilmette, Chris Blanchard and Jacqueline Gareau of
Restaurant Leméac team. Eric Poole, Marc MacNeil, Marc-Antoine La Rochelle and
Philippe Bourassa of the Blake, Cassels & Graydon s.r.l. team took the honours
in the Men's category, while first place in the Women's category was won by
Manon Quintin, Diane Lapointe, Gisèle Gariepy and Geneviève Deschamps of Gaz
Métro. Last but not least Barsalou Lawson / Skimco team made up of Travis
Chalmers, François Billette, Nathalie Bellavance and Philippe Legris took
first place in the Mixed category.

    The Pierre Boivin Challenge

A great new feature this year was the Pierre Boivin Challenge. In order
to raise as much money for the perinatal unit as possible in the Triathlon,
participating teams were allowed to solicit donations from co-workers,
suppliers, friends and family members in competition for the Pierre Boivin
Award. The Challenge helped raise a total of $75,823. The Pembroke Management
team won the Pierre Boivin Award with a total contribution of $8,925.

The 4th edition of the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation Winter
