Rutter Hinz Awarded $3.25 Million (USD) Contract for Enbridge Spearhead South Pipeline Expansion

    ST. JOHN'S, Nov. 8 /CNW/ - Rutter Inc. (TSX: RUT) is pleased to announce
that Rutter Hinz, its engineering and automation arm, has been awarded the
electrical, instrumentation and control systems engineering for Enbridge Inc.
subsidiary, CCPS Transportation, L.L.C.'s, Spearhead South Pipeline Expansion
    "This is a significant effort involving the design, construction and
retrofitting of eight pumping stations to increase oil transport capacity on
the Enbridge Spearhead South Pipeline running from the Flanagan, Illinois area
to Cushing, Oklahoma," said Steve Scott, Executive Vice-President and General
Manager of Rutter Hinz. "Rutter Hinz will be a subcontractor to Universal
Ensco Inc., the prime engineering contractor on this project and we will be
combining our efforts with their personnel in Houston to provide engineering
for the new facilities."
    Ryan Hinz, President and CEO of Rutter Hinz noted, "This project is well
aligned with our capabilities and we are extremely pleased to be working with
the Universal Ensco/Enbridge team to deliver a practical solution that enables
Enbridge to extract additional business value from its existing pipeline
infrastructure. Our piece of the project is estimated to be worth
$3.25 million (USD) and will be led from our Pipeline Center of Excellence in
Edmonton, Alberta."
    New pipeline projects in 2006 were up by more than 50% over 2005 levels
and according to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) U.S.
total refinery demand for western Canadian crude oil is projected to increase
from about 1.6 million b/d to almost 3.1 million b/d between 2006 and 2015, a
100 percent increase. This will continue to drive demand for additional
pipeline capacity and related expansion projects in western Canada.
