ROCA - MAX Mine Restarts Ahead of Schedule

    ROK: TSX.V

VANCOUVER, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - Roca Mines Inc. (ROK: TSX-V) ("Roca" or "the
Company") announces that it has restarted production ahead of schedule, at its
MAX mill and concentrator on January 8, 2009. This was previously planned and
announced to take place on January 19, 2009.
The mine and mill will operate at a rate of 500 tpd and will quickly work
towards Phase I production target rates of molybdenum concentrates. During the
Christmas shutdown period a number of tasks were undertaken at the mine and
the mill to improve overall operating efficiency. Development work was also
carried out to remove the impact on production caused by a localized rockfall
on the 875 Level.
