TORONTO, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - (RMD-TSXV) Richmond Minerals announces it has
begun a 1,500 meter drill program on its 100% owned Triple Lake exploration
project, located 30 km south of Timmins, Ontario. The drill program will
concentrate on the CF-1 and CF-2 properties to test 2 airborne EM clusters
located by a recent Megatem II survey completed by the Ontario Geological
Survey in conjunction with Geological Survey of Canada. Additional
electromagnetic anomalies, obtained from Richmond's October 2007 ground
follow-up program, will also be tested.
The EM clusters were located by a Megatem II survey completed by the OGS
in conjunction with GSC and the data was released April 17, 2007. The airborne
data indicated two previously unknown anomalous areas. Examination of records
held by the Timmins Mining office indicates these areas have not been drill
tested nor subject to intensive investigation. The two anomalous clusters were
staked as two separate blocks and then recorded on Friday, April 20, 2007.
Richmond Minerals optioned the project in October and commenced an
exploration program of line cutting and ground geophysics. Total field
magnetic, VLF-electromagnetic and horizontal loop electromagnetic surveys were
During the geophysical program mineralized outcrop and float were
encountered on both properties. On the CF-1 property, 8 grab samples were
taken from mineralized outcrops. Copper values ranging from 252ppm copper to
1484ppm were obtained. One sample was taken from outcrop on the CF-2 property.
The sample returned 6052ppm (0.6%) copper and 191ppb gold.
Drilling results will be released on an ongoing basis.
