Responding at the request of Cardinal Turcotte - Management of the fabrique hopes to accelerate talks and resolve conflict rapidly

    MONTREAL, Aug. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Responding to a request from Cardinal
Jean-Claude Turcotte, Archbishop of Montreal, and reacting to the union's
position, the Fabrique Notre-Dame-de-Montréal will lift the lockout as soon as
the CSN union accepts to end its strike at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
The Fabrique could not agree more with Cardinal Turcotte's request that
the two parties continue and accelerate "talks by using all resources
available under labour law to arrive at an agreement."
In this spirit and out of respect for grieving families, who have already
been greatly affected by the ongoing conflict, the Fabrique will continue to
make every effort possible this week during conciliation to rapidly reach a
satisfactory resolution and invites the union to do the same.
