LONGUEUIL, QC, Oct. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain
Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) announces the reopening of the Clement Bridge to
trucks as of today, October 22, 2008.
The Clement Bridge connects Nuns' Island with the Bonaventure Expressway
on the Island of Montreal and had been closed to trucks for the past two
years. This closure was necessary to allow strengthening of seven piers that
support the bridge. In all, fourteen new steel beams were installed on these
piers. About $6 million was invested to ensure the Clement Bridge will
continue to serve users of the Corporation's road network.
