Renowned Finance Professor and "Wizard of Wharton" at HEC Montréal

    MONTREAL, Oct. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - On October 24, Réseau HEC Montreal will
host its annual alumni homecoming with the theme "Passeport pour le savoir"
(Passport for Knowledge).
    Jeremy Siegel, the Russell E. Palmer Professor of Finance at the Wharton
School of the University of Pennsylvania, academic director of the U.S
Securities Industry Institute and author of several best-selling books on
finance, will deliver the keynote presentation entitled "Current Markets and
Future Globalization." Professor Siegel received the highest rating in a
worldwide ranking of business school professors conducted by Business Week
magazine and has been nicknamed the "Wizard of Wharton" for his financial
    The morning will include three talks from HEC Montréal professors:

        - "Le développement durable" by Paul Lanoie, Associate Director,
           Academic Affairs and Strategic Planning, HEC Montréal;

        - "Ce que vous pouvez faire pour les TI !" by Suzanne Rivard,
           Professor and Holder, Chair in Strategic Management of Information
           Technology, HEC Montréal; and

        - "Le syndrome de l'abeille chinoise" by Christian Dussart,
           Professor, Department of Marketing, HEC Montréal.

    The afternoon lineup will feature presentations that pair up HEC Montréal
faculty with three guest speakers:

        - "Penser comme un économiste... et se faire comprendre" by Nathalie
           Elgrably (Lecturer, Institut d'économie appliquée, HEC Montréal)
           and René Vézina (Business Columnist,and Journalist, Les Affaires);

        - "Power to the People - chantait John Lennon en 1971" by Sylvain
           Sénécal (Associate Professor, Department of Marketing, HEC
           Montréal) and Yves Gougoux (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,
           BCP); and

        - "L'ère de l'employé ROI" by Anne Bourhis (Associate Professor,
           Director of the Department of Human Resources Management, HEC
           Montréal) and Gisèle Desrochers (Senior Vice President, Strategic
           Initiatives Office, National Bank of Canada).

    HEC Montréal alumni will be given registration priority, but the public
