CALGARY, April 5 /CNW/ - Energy-TV, Canada's weekly half hour news
magazine program that focuses on the companies, the people and the issues in
the oil and gas industry, is pleased to announce the addition of a well-known
broadcaster - Krista Platzer. She brings over 15 years of experience in
broadcast journalism throughout Western Canada and the United States to the
rapidly expanding Energy-TV team.
After graduating with honors at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
in Edmonton in 1991, she began her career as an anchor/reporter in
Saskatchewan covering municipal, provincial and agricultural issues. In 1997,
she moved to Edmonton to work at A-Channel as anchor of the weekend newscasts
as well as (report) on major breaking news stories from all over the province.
In 2000, Platzer moved to Calgary to co-anchor the 10 o'clock news show
at A-Channel Calgary. Her career path then led south of the border where she
worked at KATV, number one station in Little Rock, Arkansas, as 10 o'clock
anchor. She returned to Calgary in 2004 where she currently resides and worked
part-time at Global Calgary as weekend anchor.
Platzer will join Energy-TV as a leading broadcast journalist bringing
her expertise to this successful oil and gas news program that is currently on
Canwest CH in Calgary (Channel 50), in Edmonton (Channel 54) and in Red Deer
(Channel 6 or 11) Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays 4:30 p.m. to
Energy-TV (www.energy-tv.com) is also launching a similar oil and gas
television show in Houston focusing on the companies, the legislation and the
people in the United State's petroleum industry. Energy-TV will run on ABC's
affiliate KTRK (Channel 13) in Houston every Saturday at 2 p.m.
