Recipients of the 2009 Courage To Come Back Awards To Be Honoured At 11th Annual Gala Dinner

    What:  Coast Mental Health will be recognizing six inspirational
           individuals from across British Columbia at the 11th Annual
           Courage To Come Back Awards Gala Dinner. These prestigious awards
           are presented to individuals who have overcome extraordinary
           challenges in their lives.

    Who:   Six courageous British Columbians - Helen Burnham (Addiction),
           Jessica Brimacombe (Youth), Vivian Garcia (Physical
           Rehabilitation), Lori Slater (Medical), Tina Tomashiro (Mental
           Health) and Becki Wyer (Social Adversity) will each be receiving a
           Courage To Come Back Award.

           Courage Co-Hosts Deborra Hope and Kevin Evans will emcee. Senior
           representatives from major Courage partners will share the stage
           including Scotiabank, Global BC, The Province, BC Housing, Great-
           West Life Assurance and News1130.

           Lorne Segal, Chair, The Courage To Come Back Awards is pleased to
           announce a special appearance by Courage Ambassador Peter Legge
           and his distinguished helpers.

           Also in attendance to celebrate this milestone will be Mayors of
           many metro cities including Mayor Fassbender of Langley, who
           nominated one of the 2009 Courage recipients, Mayor Watts of
           Surrey, Mayor Brodie of Richmond, Former Vancouver Mayor Sam
           Sullivan, MLA Harry Bloy, as well as metro City Councillors and
           many other dignitaries.

    Why:   The Courage To Come Back Awards celebrate people who have valuable
           lessons to share as they have courageously battled back from
           illness, adversity or injury. Through Courage, British Columbians
           are acknowledged for their accomplishments, positive attitudes and
           willingness to give back to their communities.
