Best Buy continues its support of Big Brothers Big Sisters with a new
initiative reconnecting long lost "Bigs" and "Littles"
EDMONTON, July 3 /CNW/ - The chance for past Big Brothers Big Sisters
mentors to reconnect with long lost "Littles" is just a click away! Would you
like to know what your Big or Little is doing today? Have you ever thought of
reuniting with your former Big or Little, but were not sure how to go about
it? Throughout the month of July, former Bigs and Littles are encouraged to
visit Best Buy's BIG Reunion website at www.BestBuy.ca/BigReunion and register
with Big Brothers Big Sisters ALUMNI. Once registered, alumni members will
have the opportunity to complete an online Reconnection Request and
participate in Best Buy's BIG Reunion.
BBBS ALUMNI is a national program dedicated to reconnecting thousands of
past and current Bigs and Littles. Those who register with the program between
July 1 and July 31, 2008 will receive a $20 Best Buy gift card.
"Best Buy is thrilled to continue its commitment to Big Brothers Big
Sisters and recognizes the importance to the organization of reconnecting with
Alumni," said Loveena Chera, director of marketing, Best Buy. "We are excited
to offer an incentive for Alumni registration and to be able to provide
reconnected Bigs and Littles with the technology to keep these long lost
friends in touch."
Continuing its multi-faceted support of BBBS and its member agencies,
Best Buy is sponsoring the reconnection of former Bigs and Littles through
Best Buy's BIG Reunion. Best Buy will also give up to three reunited pairs a
Best Buy Reconnection Grand Prize technology package which includes: a laptop
computer, webcam, digital camera and more.
"Best Buy's support of Big Brothers Big Sisters ALUMNI has been
instrumental in our goal of reconnecting with our thousands of past volunteers
and supporters," said Monika Paquette, alumni director, Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Canada. "Best Buy's BIG Reunion will allow us the opportunity to
recognize and potentially reunite with our Bigs and Littles, and thank them
for the difference they have made through mentorship."
Serena, A Little Sister from Edmonton shares her thoughts on BBBS:
"Having a big sister was the most important and crucial thing for me
growing up without a mother. My big sister had a major impact on my life."
