Reader's Digest Wants to Share a Smile with Canada!

MONTREAL, April 24 /CNW Telbec/ - Spring has finally arrived! The weather
is getting warmer, the sun is shining brighter, and the first spring flowers
are starting to appear! There's something about the season that automatically
brings a smile to your face. Reader's Digest wanted to celebrate in style, so
we're going to start Spring off with a smile! On Tuesday, April 24, we're
launching an all-out Smile Campaign...and we're determined to get the entire
country smiling along with us.
Smiles are valuable currency, and we're asking our readers to help spread
the wealth. In every copy of the May issue of Reader's Digest, you'll find a
set of "smile cards." With these smile cards, you can share the power of the
smile...with friends, family, co-workers, or even complete strangers! Wouldn't
it be nice if someone walked up to you in the street and handed you a smile?
And as smiles can be very contagious, you'll probably want to turn around and
give the gift of that smile to someone else. You can even go online at and send a virtual smile to brighten someone's day. While on our
website, readers can enter our Share a Smile Contest for a chance to win
$5,000 and be published in Reader's Digest just by telling us about an
inspiring smile that changed their day.
And if you're still in need of a smile or two, the May issue of Reader's
Digest is just the ticket - full of giggles and guffaws galore! What makes us
laugh can vary greatly from one person to the next, so we've included
something for everyone, from the ever popular tales of Really Dumb Criminals
to an interview with The Real Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson. And if office politics
are getting you down, Goofing off at Work with improvised comedy may be right
up your alley! We'll also take a look at the history of the smile with When
You're Smiling, while The Power of a Smile takes a look at this most human of
facial expressions.
If you're in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver on Tuesday, April 24, we
invite you to come out and join us as we kick off our Smile Campaign in style
with three very special events. At the Toronto Eaton Centre, you can join
Reader's Digest, Dr. Madan Kataria and members of the High Park Laughter Club
for a half-hour session of Laughter yoga. It's like no other workout you've
ever experienced! Check out for full event details.
