RCGT announces Richard Payette's departure and Jean Robillard's interim appointment

    MONTREAL, Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Executive Committee of Raymond Chabot
Grant Thornton announces today that Richard Payette FCA decided not to renew
his mandate at the end of the year. Jean Robillard was unanimously appointed
as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer.
    A graduate from Ecole des HEC and a chartered accountant since 1984,
Mr. Payette has been President and CEO since 2005. He previously occupied
several positions at RCGT, including Regional Vice president, Montreal from
2001 to 2005. "After 8 years as a member of the Company's executive
management, now is the time for me to think of new career objectives and
explore new horizons," said Mr. Payette, also a member of Grant Thornton
International's Board of directors.
    Speaking on behalf of the Executive Committee, Secretary Daniel Williams
thanked Mr.Payette for his contribution in making RCGT the leading public
accounting and management consulting firm in Quebec. "Thanks to his dedicated
commitment at the regional, national and international levels, Mr. Payette
succeeded in strengthening our status as a leading-edge accounting firm while
instilling an innovative spirit to the firm, which will be celebrating its
60th anniversary this year," added Mr. Williams.
    Moreover Mr. Robillard, who accepted to act as Interim President holds a
BAA (Accounting) and a MBA (Finance) from HEC Montréal, as well as a DEA
(finance & accounting) from Université des Sciences sociales of Grenoble,
France. A chartered accountant and partner at RCGT since 1986, he also has
been President of Raymond Chabot Inc. since 1995. Holder of a Trustee Licence,
he has been a prominent figure in the fields of recovery and reorganization in
Quebec for the past 25 years. He is a member of The Canadian Association of
Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, and of the Insolvency Institute of
