/R E P E A T/ - Media Advisory - UN State of World Population 2007 to Be Released in Ottawa on June 27

OTTAWA, June 26 /CNW Telbec/ - This coming Wednesday, the United Nations
Population Fund (UNFPA) and Action Canada for Population and Development
(ACPD) will unveil the annual flagship report State of World Population 2007:
Unleashing the Potential of Urban Growth. The report states that by the year

therefore calls for pre-emptive action in preparation for the growing
populations in an effort to facilitate and maximize the potential of urban
growth. The future of these populations depends on important decisions and
actions made and taken now by governments, policy makers and others.
The Canadian launch will feature keynote speakers Patricia Leidl, from
UNFPA; Katherine McDonald, Executive Director of ACPD; and Victor Piché, a top
Canadian demographer, an expert in the field of International Migrations, and
Honorary Professor at the University of Montréal.
Journalists outside Ottawa can participate via conference call by dialing
1-800-732-1073. Start time is 10:15 a.m. Press kit and all background
