    George Brown's signature student cooking competition searches for
    brightest culinary stars

    TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, February 26, George Brown College's
Chef School will be hosting its seventh annual Chefs in the City(TM)
competition, the College's signature culinary event featuring the province's
high school culinary prodigies. Individual students and school teams from
across Ontario will be competing in a variety of cooking and baking
competitions, with George Brown Chef School scholarships available to those
who come out in top in the following categories:

    "Whiz Kids" Cooking Competition:

    Open to high school students showcasing cooking talent on an individual
basis, this event is based upon prior selection through an essay format
contest. 24 students will be judged by a panel of George Brown Chef School

    "Ready, Set & Cook" Culinary and Baking Competitions:

    A team event, divided between culinary and baking competitions where
students test a variety of items before the contest. Teams then prepare their
creations and serve them to the judges.

    What:     George Brown College's Seventh Annual Chefs in the City

              George Brown Chef School's signature culinary event for high
              school students from across Ontario.

    When:     Tuesday, February 26

              "Whiz Kids" Cooking Competition: 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
              "Ready, Set & Cook" Culinary and Baking Competitions: 10:45
              a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
              Awards ceremony and photo shoot: 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
