RICHMOND, BC, May 25 /CNW/ - CSA International will officially open its
brand new laboratory dedicated to testing and certifying solar photovoltaic
panels and related components at its Richmond, BC, facility on Friday, May 29,
2009, at 10:00 a.m. PT.
Media will witness first-hand the rigorous testing procedures solar
photovoltaic panels are subject to during a facility tour. These tests can
include: simulating the effects of prolonged rain on solar panels, testing the
panels' ability to withstand impact by dropping a steel ball directly on the
panels, and how panels withstand scratching by cutting the surface with a saw.
Businesses in Canada and around the world are realizing the benefits of
solar panel installations. In 2008 world solar photovoltaic market
installations grew 110 per cent over the previous year to 5.95 gigawatts. CSA
International's new lab is located near Vancouver to best service global
clients in the growing alternative energy sector. The facility employs 85
staff and continues to grow in reaction to high demands in medical and
alternative energy product certifications. CSA International certifies
products for both Canada and the U.S. and can test to European standards.
Following the opening remarks and guided tour, media will be invited to
interview Rob Griffin, President & CEO, CSA Group, and Randall Luecke,
President, CSA International & OnSpeX.
