Calling on British Columbians to submit nominations

What: The Courage To Come Back Awards launches the 11th annual
nominations drive. Coast Mental Health, proud presenters of the Courage To
Come Back Awards, encourage individuals across the province to nominate a
friend, family member, colleague or other person in their community who has
overcome extraordinary challenges.
Nominations are open to all residents of British Columbia.
Nominations are being sought in six categories:
- mental health
- physical rehabilitation
- social adversity
The recipients will be honoured at the 11th Annual Gala Dinner at the
Hyatt Regency in Vancouver on April 30, 2009. Proceeds from the awards gala
support Coast in reaching out to people with a mental illness.
Who: Lorne Segal, Chair, Courage To Come Back Awards, and Darrell
Burnham, Executive Director, Coast Mental Health, will provide nomination
details. Courage To Come Back Award recipients Debbie Sesula (2008) and
Michael Childs (2008) will speak about their experience receiving a Courage
award and how it has impacted their lives. Other past recipients will be
available following the launch event for interviews and photos.

Why: The Courage To Come Back is a celebration of people who have
courageously battled back from illness, adversity or injury. With each story,
differences are celebrated, abilities in all people are recognized, and
