Québec City's 400th anniversary celebrations - CAA-Quebec: always there to help - even by bicycle!

QUEBEC, June 26 /CNW Telbec/ - CAA-Quebec is aware that traffic will be
heavy at certain times during the celebrations surrounding the 400th
anniversary of the founding of Québec City. Because of this, it is deploying a
patroller on bicycle this summer in the city's downtown core.
In this way, CAA-Quebec will always be close at hand, whatever the
traffic situation. The patroller will be able to provide assistance in the
Old-Québec, Old-Port, National Assembly and Battlefields Park (Plains of
Abraham) areas. His electric bicycle will pull a small trailer carrying tools
that will enable him to provide battery boosts, replace flat tires, deliver
gas and unlock vehicles. Although CAA-Quebec's fleet of traditional tow trucks
remains indispensable in normal road conditions, the bicycle patrol is a
flexible - and environmentally friendly! - additional way for the organization
to serve its members.
Media representatives are cordially invited to come meet the patroller
and his original towing device, which will be serving the city until
September 19.

    Date: Thursday, June 26, 2008

    Time: 11 a.m. to noon

Place: Desjardins Street, in front of Québec's city hall
