CALGARY, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - PURUS Technologies Inc. (PURUS), a Calgary based
Decision Management Technology firm, has established an Information Management

Recently, Deputy Minister John Law and Assistant Deputy Minister of
Operations, Terry Schmidt, explained that MHI has an initiative underway
called "Ready for the Future". This initiative will design an organization

Last year, PURUS completed an Enterprise Information Technology Strategy
for the Ministry. An integral part of this strategy is the creation of the IMO
to facilitate the delivery of a broad set of Decision Management solutions

tasked with creating and maintaining the processes and controls around the
Ministry's information management as well being a central point for
information management validation. The role of the IMO is to implement the
Ministry's Information Management Strategy. The key objectives of the strategy
- Re-establish "trust" in the data;
- Provide access to any data, any time, to anyone who has authorization;
- Support efficient business processes.
The IMO is a "change management" process and requires no new technology.
The Ministry will be utilizing existing technology and staff positions to
establish the IMO in conjunction with PURUS. Bryan Peacock, Director of the
Business Systems Branch, will provide joint leadership to the IMO. It will be
the responsibility of the IMO to:
- Develop and manage the Ministry's Systems of Record (the rules that
govern data management, the responsibilities matrix, and the best
- Facilitate the Communities of Practice (ensuring best practices
sponsorship and staff "buy in" within MHI); and
- Manage the relationship with the Information Technology Office
(developing a set of projects and a road map to address the objectives
of the Information Management Strategy).
"The establishment of the Information Management Office within MHI is
effective immediately," states Mr. Stobbs.
