OTTAWA, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - Victor Thomas, President of the Regina &
District Chamber of Commerce, was named today as this year's recipient
of the Public Policy Forum's annual Emerging Leaders Award. The award
recognizes the contributions of young Canadians who personify
leadership in the area of public policy and civic discourse.

In 2005, the Public Policy Forum established the annual award to
recognize emerging leaders who are in the early stages of their career
and demonstrate exceptional initiative and commitment to the principles

The award will be presented at the 24th Annual Testimonial Dinner in
Toronto on April 28th. This year's Dinner will be co-Chaired by New
Brunswick Premier the Hon. David Alward, and GE Canada's President and
CEO Elyse Allan. The previously announced Testimonial Award honourees
for 2011 are Bill Davis, Gordon Nixon, Monique Leroux and Jim Stanford.
André Picard is the recipient of the 2011 Hyman Solomon Award for
Excellence in Public Policy Journalism.
