Province and AMAPCEO reach tentative agreement

    TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - A tentative agreement has been reached between
the Government of Ontario and the Association of Management, Administrative
and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario (AMAPCEO).
    Both the government and the association must ratify the tentative
agreement before details can be released.


    "I want to applaud the hard work done by both parties in reaching a
tentative agreement that addresses our need for fiscal responsibility while
ensuring a continuation of vital public services," said Minister of Government
Services Ted McMeekin.


    -   The Ministry of Government Services is responsible for negotiating
        collective agreements with several bargaining agents, including

    -   AMAPCEO is one of the largest Ontario public service unions and
        represents approximately 9,600 employees. Employees represented by
        the association are broadly characterized as administrative and
        professional employees that are generally focused on knowledge-based
        activities, have direct reporting relationships with senior
        management, and include positions in communications, business
        planning, or policy development and analysis roles.
