TORONTO, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Thirty-five year old sawmill worker Darwin Head
of Prince Albert, SK, has the chance to become an instant millionaire tomorrow
night, as he takes to the ice at General Motors Place in TSN's second annual,
international-award winning contest, the Chevrolet Malibu Million Dollar
Shootout. The contest will air live nationally on TSN and TSN HD tomorrow
(Feb. 27) during the first intermission of the game broadcast featuring
Colorado @ Vancouver, which begins at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT).
Head will have 24 seconds to shoot 20 pucks into an open net from the far
blue line. If he scores 15 or more goals within the allotted time, he will win
$1 million in a one-time payout.
Earlier today, Head honed his wrist shot in a special one-hour practice
session with Hall of Fame defenceman Bobby Orr at General Motors Place. In his
four attempts from the far blue line, Head scored 14, 16, 13 and 9 goals. His
second attempt of 16 goals was one more than needed to take home the
$1 million.
As part of tomorrow's contest, Head will also have the chance to win up
to four totally new Chevrolet Malibu Hybrids - the 2008 North American Car of
the Year - for himself, his two friends, Lance Badger and Randy Bout, and one
fan in attendance at the game.
Head, Badger and Bout will shoot pucks from centre ice, where they will
each have 15 seconds to shoot 10 pucks at an open net (30 pucks in total).
Depending on the number of total goals scored as a group, prizes will be
awarded as follows:

    - 5 goals - Head wins a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid
    - 10 goals - Head, Badger and Bout win a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid
    - 15 goals - Head, Badger, Bout and one in-arena fan all win a 2008
Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, for a total of four cars given away

A lifetime Saskatchewanian, Head grew up on the Mistawasis First Nation
reserve, located approximately 45 minutes west of Prince Albert. He started
playing hockey at age 10 and continued playing recreationally until he was 25
years old. Head currently works as a sawyer at Carrier Forest Products Ltd. in
Prince Albert, where he lives with his wife Criste and their three children.
At 5'9" and 215 lbs., Head was randomly chosen from 8.6 million total online
entries, far surpassing any previous contest or promotional campaign on TSN.
