Press Release - Cyclical Split NT Corp.

TORONTO, Oct. 8 /CNW/ - The board of directors of Cyclical Split NT Corp.
("Cyclical Split" or the "Company") advises that, on October 2, 2008, the
Company sold its aggregate holdings of 113,350 units in the capital of Fording
Canadian Coal Trust (the "Fording Units") into the market at an average price
of $85.8633 per unit. After taking into consideration the terms of a plan of
arrangement involving Fording Canadian Coal Trust and Teck Cominco Limited
(the "Arrangement"), the board of directors determined that selling the
Fording Units into the market was more beneficial in minimizing tax liability
and avoiding potential market risks to the shareholders than awaiting
completion of the Arrangement. This sale of 113,350 Fording Units has
contributed a total of approximately $7,516,000 in realized capital gains in
the Company's portfolio investments, all of which is attributable to the
Capital Shares of the Company over this time period (excluding distributions).
The Company will invest the proceeds from the sale of the Fording Units
in an interest-bearing short-term note to mature on or before December 15,
2008 (the "Short-Term Note").
Following the sale of the Fording Units and excluding the Short-Term
Note, the Company holds the following securities in its portfolio:
