Premier McGuinty Offers Condolences On Death Of York Region Police Officer



    Offers Sympathy To Family, Friends and Co-Workers

    QUEEN'S PARK, Aug. 2 /CNW/ - Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty today
released the following statement regarding the death of York Regional Police
Constable Robert Plunkett:
    "On behalf of all Ontarians, I would like to express my condolences to
Constable Plunkett's wife and children, as well as the many friends, family
and colleagues who are mourning this devastating loss.
    You are in the thoughts and prayers of people throughout the province.
Ontarians hold the courage and sacrifice of Constable Plunkett in the highest
regard. The loss of one of our officers is a tragedy for all of us.
    We're reminded today that the safety of our communities comes at a price.
As we pay tribute to Constable Plunkett, let us also honour all those who wear
the uniform, putting their lives at risk as they work to protect our homes and
