Power Advisory Ends for the Greater Toronto Area

TORONTO, June 27 /CNW/ - The Power Advisory issued yesterday by the
Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for the Greater Toronto Area
(GTA) has ended. The outlook for the remainder of the week indicates that more
moderate temperatures will result in lower demand for electricity.
"I want to thank all those consumers in the GTA who responded. Their
efforts to reduce electricity consumption between noon and 8:00 p.m. are much
appreciated and helped us to manage the temporary strain on the system over
the past two days," said Derek Cowbourne, IESO Chief Operating Officer.

The IESO is responsible for managing Ontario's bulk electricity system
and operating the wholesale electricity market. For more information, visit
