TORONTO, Oct. 17 /CNW/ - Porter Airlines is commencing a project to improve its terminal facilities at Toronto City Centre Airport. The project will result in enhanced customer lounge space and create additional airport gate capacity to accommodate the delivery of new Bombardier Q400 aircraft. "Porter is continuing its successful growth with the commencement of these required improvements to our terminal facilities," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. "We will maintain a full level of customer service throughout the construction necessary to improve our passenger terminal. "We're pleased to be adding new capacity and destinations at a time when many carriers are reducing service." Porter plans to operate 20 aircraft within two years and serve additional destinations, such as Boston, Washington and Philadelphia. Service to Chicago begins Nov. 12. Passenger areas in the improved terminal will continue featuring leather lounge seating, wireless Internet access, beverages, snacks and computer work stations. These services are provided on a complimentary basis to all travelers. About Porter Airlines Porter Airlines Inc. is a regional passenger carrier based at Toronto City Centre Airport.
