Poplar Point Energy Inc. Announces Senior Management Changes


    CALGARY, Nov. 15 /CNW/ - Poplar Point Energy Inc. (the "Corporation") is
pleased to announce the following changes to its Board of Directors,
subsequent to the recently announced $13,000,000 in financing:
    Effective November 14, 2007, Murray Montgomery has accepted the position
of Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") of the
Corporation. Mr. Montgomery's starting date is yet to be finalized but is
expected to be in December, 2007.
    Mr. Montgomery has experience as the CFO of public and private companies
in the energy industry, including previous experience as the Vice President
Finance, CFO and Corporate Secretary of CCS Income Trust. He is also currently
a director of Deepwell Energy Services Trust, which is listed on the TSX
Venture Exchange. In addition, he has previously served as the President and
Director of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Canada, and as a Director of
the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors. Mr. Montgomery is a
Chartered Accountant (Canadian), a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois), and
he has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.

    Mr. Montgomery will replace Ms. Bettina Pierre-Gilles, whom has resigned
from the Board and as Treasurer of the Corporation effective November 2, 2007.
Mr. Montgomery and Ms. Pierre-Gilles will be handing-over responsibilities to
ensure a smooth transition. Ms. Pierre-Gilles may continue to be involved with
the Corporation to utilize her strengths in international corporate finance.
