Pizza 73 kicks off 2009 with free cash contest, new pizza and delivery time guarantee

EDMONTON, Jan. 13 /CNW/ - At a time when Canadians are digesting their
Holiday expenses and looking for more value from their favourite retailers,
Pizza 73 announces three important innovations that will help customers save
time and money, and benefit from even greater choice.

    Time: our most valuable commodity

Pizza 73 introduces a new 40-minute time guarantee on applicable
deliveries in Edmonton and surrounding markets. The opening of nine new
locations in 2008 helped the company decide the timing was right to offer a
delivery guarantee.
"Having more outlets in an area helps our local operators deliver a pizza
that is piping hot and as fresh as can be," says Pat Finelli, chief marketing
officer for the banner. "It also allows us to respond to consumers who
continually ask for more locations, options and convenience."
The implementation starts immediately in Edmonton, Red Deer, Fort
McMurray, Medicine Hat, Leduc, Camrose and Grande Prairie, and is subject to
certain conditions including severe weather and exceptionally large orders.

    Cash Is King

Each day, beginning January 12 through February 15, customers who place
orders through will be entered into a daily cash draw for
$500. Entitled "Cash Is King", the promotion applies to online orders for
delivery or pick up.
"We want customers to know how grateful we are for their business," says
Finelli. "And we're ready to put our money where our mouth is by giving back
to customers in whatever way we can, especially at this time of the year. I
guess you could say Christmas is coming around a second time for Pizza 73

    The choice is yours

In the spirit of a very "white" winter Canadians are experiencing across
the prairies and mountain regions, Pizza 73 launches its first white pizza
made with a garlic parmesan cream sauce. The white sauce is part of a new
pizza option, the Chicken Mushroom Melt which is available at more than 60
traditional Pizza 73 outlets across Alberta.
"Together, these initiatives should help customers keep things simple,
affordable and tasty at the dinner table," says Finelli. "We hope people will
find new ways to save money and time in 2009 so they can focus on more
important priorities like spending time with family and friends."

Pizza 73 aims to satisfy each and every customer by providing excellent
quality food and true value in a fast and friendly manner. Founded in 1985,
the brand was acquired in 2007 by Pizza Pizza Ltd., making it Canada's number
one pizza chain in terms of sales. Combined, Pizza Pizza / Pizza 73 operate
more than 600 traditional and non-traditional restaurants from coast to coast.
The company is a leader in the communities in which it operates by providing
in kind support and volunteers to numerous charities, events, youth programs,
and sports teams at the corporate and franchise level.
