Board is very pleased to announce appointment to its Board of Brian A. Grove,
the Chief Investment Officer of HudsonPartnership LLP, Houston, Texas.
"Mr. Grove has been furnishing active suggestions as a shareholder," says
Photon's Chair Robert Blair. "Photon technology has attracted the attention of
technology and investment leaders in Houston, a valuable strength which now
will be very well represented by Brian Grove on its Board as an independent
"I am very pleased to join the Photon Control Board," says Mr. Grove. "I
believe that the company is a technological leader in its field, and that its
leadership under Mr. Blair and Mr. Melnyk is of the highest quality. I look
forward to working with them and the Board to make Photon a financial success
Photon Control also announces the resignation of one of its Directors,
Mr. Gerry Hipple. Mr. Hipple congratulated the Company on its recent
distribution and sales agreement for Photon's Total Sulfur Analyzer saying,
"This is an accomplishment to the great credit of Photon and as a commercial
product it should have significance in the marketplace." However, Mr. Hipple
felt that as the market for the new instrument overlaps with that of a product
sold by the Company for which he serves as President, the potential for a
conflict of interest exists.
Also, Mr. Blair informed the Board that he requires bypass surgery
followed by a period off work and the Board appointed Chief Operating Officer,
Ivan Melnyk, to be Acting President as of April 7, 2008. Mr. Blair will
continue as non-executive Chair and stay involved with his old and new
connections on Photon's behalf.
The Board appointed David C. Dueck to be Lead Independent Director
available to expedite on call, the organization of materials for Board action.
