Photo/Interview Opportunity - Search is over for a new Canadian Rugby Anthem

World Cup team to be presented with official Song & Symbol
as show of support from Canadian Rugby Fans

TORONTO, Aug. 30 /CNW/ - Team Canada is off to face the world at the 2007
Rugby World Cup and will be taking a little piece of Canada with them. The
Symbol, a wooden sculpture commissioned by Guinness, has spent the last few
months traveling coast-to-coast touching Rugby fans from all over. Guinness is
the official beer and major sponsor of Rugby Canada. Fans and players passed
the symbol from club-to-club to show their support, and in some cases either
signed or carved their initials. Having just returned from out East, The
Symbol will officially be presented to the team on Thursday morning during an
official send-off at their last practice.
In addition, the team will introduce their new Anthem "Brothers All" as
written by a dedicated fan who won the online weneedasong.ca contest earlier
this summer. The search for a new anthem garnered interest from Rugby fans
across the country and resulted in more than 100 entries. The winner as chosen
by the fans and the players will be traveling overseas to watch one of the
major international rugby games.
Today is your chance for one last photo, one last interview, one last
show of support for Team Canada members, before they head off to Bordeaux,
France to represent Canada at the Rugby World Cup.
