TORONTO, Aug. 7 /CNW/ - Waterfront Toronto will host a community celebration on Saturday, August 8 to officially open the Rees WaveDeck. The celebration, featuring local musicians and buskers, will turn the wavedeck's informal amphitheatre-like space into a stage overlooking boating activities in the slip. Following in the footsteps of the Spadina and Simcoe WaveDecks, the Rees WaveDeck is the third in a series of four urban docks designed to create more public space along one of the most heavily used parts of the Toronto shoreline. Built in less than 10 months, this 480 square-metre wavedeck is uniquely Canadian and a fantastic new addition to Toronto's waterfront. WHAT: Rees WaveDeck official opening community celebration WHEN: Saturday, August 8 Official remarks : 1 p.m. Event: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (rain or shine) WHERE: Rees WaveDeck Queens Quay Blvd. just west of Rees St. (at the water's edge next to Harbourfront Centre Sailing and Powerboating).
