TORONTO, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - Rogers Media today announced that Paul Beeston
has been appointed CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays on an interim basis. Mr.
Beeston will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the
baseball club and Rogers Centre effective immediately with the support of
outgoing President and CEO, Paul Godfrey.
Paul Beeston has had a long history with professional baseball. He was
the first employee of the Toronto Blue Jays in 1976 and held numerous titles
with the Club and was ultimately the President and CEO. Paul has two World
Series rings to his credit and was placed in the Blue Jays Level of Excellence
at Rogers Centre in April of this year, prior to the Jays' home opener. From
1997 until 2002, Paul was President and COO of Major League Baseball in New
York City. Beeston returned to Toronto in 2002 and serves on the board of a
number of philanthropic endeavours and has kept an office at Rogers Centre.

endorse this choice. I wish this arrangement could be permanent but I'll work
with Paul Beeston to find in time a suitable replacement."

Rogers Media President Tony Viner has activated a search for a permanent
President and CEO of the Club and Paul Beeston will assist with the
identification and recruitment of this individual.
