Party for our cause - Habitat for Humanity Toronto's Cement Mixer

    Mix and mingle with local celebs to raise funds to help build homes and
    hope in the GTA

    TORONTO, Sept. 22 /CNW/ - Habitat for Humanity Toronto's 5th annual
Cement Mixer will be held on Tuesday September 23 at Toronto's famous
cultural, entertainment and culinary landmark - The Drake Hotel. The
Philanthroparty is an exciting event for young professionals looking for fun,
philanthropy and an entertaining charity experience.
    Celebrity host supermodel Monika Schnarre, will be joined by other famous
faces such as CityTV's Jennifer Valentyne and George Stroumboulopoulos who may
also take time out of filming to stop by. While DJ Paul Lopes will be
spinning, guests can enjoy cocktails on the Drake's famous Sky Yard patio,
take a picture in a private photo booth, or peruse the extraordinary items up
for bid in the lounge: a round-trip plane ticket for two anywhere in Canada,
Toronto Maple Leaf tickets and memorabilia, designer jewelry, plus much more.
The Cement Mixer's event sponsors are BMO Capital Markets and bulthaup.
    Habitat for Humanity Toronto hopes to raise $35,000 of which one hundred
percent of the proceeds will go to building homes and hope for families in
need. Habitat for Humanity Toronto does not receive government funding and
relies solely on the generosity of corporations, foundations and individuals
to help achieve their mandate. The money raised through fundraising events
such as the Cement Mixer is one way Torontonians can make a difference in the
    "Substituting steeltoes for stilettos at this premier event will result
in more families moving out of poverty housing," said Habitat Toronto's CEO,
Neil Hetherington.

    Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Toronto is a non-profit,

partnership with low-income families. One hundred percent of all
administrative and fundraising costs are paid for by the operation of three
ReStores, which sell donated, quality new and gently-used renovation
