    Determined to stay green

Commenting on the appointment, Palais Director of Building Management,
Mario Poirier, pointed to the considerable efforts of the Palais to protect
the environment: "For several years, our concern for the environment has led
us to develop concrete actions that we now see as daily practices at the
Palais. We are proud of the results obtained and remain determined to continue
our efforts aimed at environmental responsibility." The exceptional
performance in energy efficiency highlighted by the appointment of the Palais
to the Energy Savers' Circle is the result of the work of the Palais Energy
Committee, comprised of employees and consultants and established to optimize
the environmental measures adopted.
Since its expansion in 2002, the Palais des congrès de Montréal has,
among other things, undertaken measures to maximize energy efficiency and
adopted an Environmental Policy. The results are significant since the Palais
has achieved a 15% reduction in energy consumption. In 2005, the Palais also
received the Go Green/Visez vert certification from BOMA Québec, a program
aimed at recognizing the efforts of owners and managers of existing buildings
to protect the environment. In 2006, the Palais was awarded, jointly with PMA
Consultants, the first prize for its recommissionning program at the Gala
Energia, hosted by the l'Association québécoise de la maîtrise de l'énergie.

Green Program, which aims to guide clients who want to reduce the
environmental footprint of their meetings, conventions and special events. The
