Pacific Stratus Announces First Results at La Creciente 3 Well

TORONTO, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - Pacific Stratus Energy Ltd. (TSX: PSE) announced
today that it has completed the first production test at the La Creciente
3 well (LCA-3), located at Prospect A of the La Creciente Block in the Lower
Magdalena Basin of Colombia. This well was drilled to a final Measured Depth
of 12,950 feet or 10,977 True Vertical Depth at Sub-Sea level. Test results of
the DST-1 indicate a production potential similar to that measured at the
LCA-1 well. Gas samples have been sent to laboratories for definitive analysis
of quality and calorific value.
Due to high pressures encountered during drilling, the company decided to
run and cement the production liner to eliminate potential operational risks
of testing the well as an open hole. As a result of the evaluation of the
drilling logs, the company decided to do the Drill Stem Tests (DST) on two
zones comprising the following intervals:

    12135 - 12145 feet (10 ft)
    12159 - 12169 feet (10 ft)

    11948 - 11958 feet (10 ft)
    11962 - 11986 feet (24 ft)
    12010 - 12025 feet (15 ft)
    12046 - 12052 feet (6 ft)
    12057 - 12060 feet (3 ft)
    12064 - 12068 feet (4 ft)
    12074 - 12090 feet (16 ft)

The DST-1 test results were as follows:

               LA CRECIENTE 3
    CHOKE WHFP Gas Rate
    /64" psi kcfd
    8 5,432 2,392
    12 5,412 5,373
    16 5,321 9,972
    20 5,130 14,400
    32(*) 4,453 25,400
(*) Well Head Flowing Pressure (WHFP) and gas rate (kcfd equals
thousand cubic feet per day) estimated by extrapolation of 2nd order
polynomial function based on real data.

Actual production may differ from initial test results. The second
production test (DST-2) will commence after the company runs a Vertical
Seismic Profile log inside the borehole and those results will be announced as
soon as completed. As part of the evaluation of LCA-3 the company has hired
Schlumberger Ltd. to carry out a reservoir modeling study to analyze and
compare production results between LCA-1 and LCA-3.
Commenting on these results, Jose Francisco Arata, the Company's CEO,
stated, "We are pleased with these results which will contribute substantially
to our recent gas sale commitments."
The Cienaga de Oro Reservoir consists of 630 feet (true thickness) of
well-sorted coarse to fine grain sandstones of which the upper zone consists
of 257 feet of gas bearing sandstones. This unit was logged using resistivity,
gamma ray and density Logging While Drilling tools. The petrophysical
evaluation reported 219 feet of net reservoir sandstones, a net to gross ratio
of 85%, an average porosity of 15.5% and an average water saturation of 27.3%.
The Saxon 126 Rig that was recently overhauled has moved to Prospect D at
La Creciente and will spud the LCD-1 well on October 26th, 2007.
