Oyster Season is Here: Six Restaurants in Old Montreal Host Inaugural Mouth Watering Festival

Seductive flavours will evoke a yearning for the world's best oysters

MONTREAL, Oct. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - The sexiest of all foods - the
irresistible, immodest, highly seductive and saucy oyster - will titillate the
senses during the Mouth Watering Festival which kicks off this month. From
October 9 to 30, diners at six renowned restaurants in Old Montreal can savour
the delights of the Malpeque oyster, recognized as one of the finest in the
world. Patrons at Aix Cuisine du Terroir, Méchant Boeuf, Narcisse Bistro + Bar
à vin, the Restaurant du Vieux-Port, Suite 701 and Verses will enjoy
12 oysters for $20, anytime during this period - and for a flavourful and
alluring epicurean experience, each restaurant will also prepare a signature
oyster dish that reflects its own particular style.
"The Mouth Watering Festival gives everyone a chance to enjoy one of this
country's most highly-reputed products," asserted Dimitri Antonopouolos, Vice
President of Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Development for the Antonopoulos
Group. "The delicacy of the Malpeque oyster is reflected in its sensuality and
freshness. These oysters are served less than two days after they are
harvested, thus heightening the dining experience."
This culinary delicacy, served in multiple versions ranging from
champagne-drizzled to overlaid with a velvety cream sauce, or enhanced with an
ecstasy-inducing combination of spices, or in the full-flavoured classic raw
variant, will appeal to fine dining connoisseurs and less practiced patrons
alike. "The variety of oyster dishes served by our six restaurants will awaken
the senses," Antonopoulos went on to say. "Happy hour patrons can enjoy their
selections in oyster bars with a cocktail or a beer, while other clients will
experience the delights of unique oyster-seafood blends and the diverse
flavours in each mouthful."
To complete the experience, Marc Bardier, holder of the Guiness Book of
World Records title for oyster shucking, will amaze patrons with his speed and
dexterity during demonstrations at Suite 701 and Méchant Boeuf on October 9,
23, and 30.
In a further stimulation of the senses, one of the lucky patrons who
indulges in oysters at any of the six participating restaurants will win a
deluxe "Bora Bora Pearl" spa treatment package at Rainspa, the urban day spa
located in the Place d'Armes Hotel & Suites.
