Following Free Hands-On Training Sessions
DENVER, August 2 /CNW/ - Quark Inc. announced today that over 3,600
customers met face-to-face with Quark experts during one-day seminars in 40
cities around the world. The free seminars provided customers with the
opportunity to network with industry innovators, share best practices and
feedback, and learn and embrace the latest features in QuarkXPress 7, Quark
XPert Tools Pro, Quark Print Collection and Quark Interactive Designer.
Across North America, Quark held large-scale, one-day events as part of
its Symposium 2007 series, kicking off in New York City and then traveling to
Montreal, Orlando, Houston and Los Angeles. Quark will host a sixth Symposium

Quark customers were particularly inspired by the hands-on training labs
led by industry experts who demonstrated the latest innovations in QuarkXPress
7 and Quark Interactive Designer. In response, all copies of Quark Interactive
Designer available for purchase at the Symposiums were sold out in each city.
Early data shows 93 percent of customers reported satisfaction with their
experience at each Symposium.
"As a long-time Quark user, I welcomed the opportunity to meet Quark
representatives and partners in person at the Orlando Symposium. I was excited
to see QuarkXPress 7 and Quark Interactive Designer up close, and was pleased
to be able to work with both products extensively in the lab workshops. Having
such personal access to Quark experts was a huge bonus. I came away impressed
with what I saw of the applications, but more importantly I left Orlando
feeling like a respected and appreciated customer," said Bill Wilson, Creative
Director Wilson-Lewis-Wilson Design.
In Europe, Quark hosted the seminars as part of its interactions 2007
roadshow that spanned 20 countries. Customers in each market were guided
through hands-on trainings and dynamic demonstrations in their local language,
which enhanced attendees' learning experience - customer response data shows
99.53 percent of customers reported satisfaction with interactions. Further,
for those who attended sessions specifically aimed at Quark users who hadn't
yet upgraded to QuarkXPress 7, 95 percent reported that they planned to
upgrade following the session.
"As a current user of QuarkXPress 6.5, I attended interactions in Paris
to weigh the benefits of the new version, which interested me. The hands-on
training was easy to follow and allowed me to deepen my knowledge of
QuarkXPress. It's clear that I'm going to upgrade quickly," said Philippe
Delpech, independent designer.
"The Quark interactions and Symposium series enabled us to meet
face-to-face with an unprecedented number of customers in local markets around
the globe," said Terry Welty, senior vice president, corporate marketing,
Quark. "In fact, registration and attendance exceeded our expectations in
every city. We are inspired by the responses we've received from customers in
each market, many of whom have shared how the trainings will positively impact
their creativity and productivity. We look forward to meeting with even more
customers in Chicago."
