Ottawa Green Party Candidates Campaign at Senators Home Opener

KANATA, Oct. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Green Party campaign teams from across the
Ottawa area had more in mind that just an efficient opportunity to make
contact with about 20,000 area voters when they campaigned at ScotiaBank Place
tonight. There was also the inspiration of a camparison between the Green
Party and the Ottawa Senators. "When the Senators entered the NHL there was a
number of years where they were not a major competitor. They worked hard on
fundamentals, and built a quality organization that eventually led them to the
Stanley Cup finals." said Jake Cole, Green Party candidate for
Carleton-Mississippi Mills. "This is what being in the Green Party feels like
right now. For many years the Green Party was not a "playoff contender", but
now we are emerging as a significant player in Canadian politics. We now have
good fundamentals - a strong platform and many high quality individuals in our
campaign teams, and as candidates. We are now becoming a strong voter choice
in all area ridings."
The Green Party contingent included campaigners from Jake Cole's team,
Francis Coates' team from Ottawa West Nepean, Jen Hunter's team from Ottawa
Center, and Ben Hoffman's team from Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke.
