TORONTO, Feb. 27 /CNW/ - Ken Burns, Ontario Pharmacists' Association
(OPA) Chair of the Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dennis
Darby as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2008.
Mr. Darby joins OPA from Procter & Gamble (P&G) where, as Director of
North America External Relations, he has led a team of senior professionals
charged with building and protecting the image and reputation of P&G and its
brands. He has extensive experience working with a wide variety of
stakeholders including governments and regulatory agencies, professional and
trade associations, consumer advocacy organizations, and business and consumer
Mr. Darby joined P&G in 1984 after receiving a degree in Chemical
Engineering and Management from McMaster University. Early in his career, over
a 15 year period, he led Research and Development teams in Canada, the United
States and Italy. He is co-inventor on 7 US and International patents related
to P&G paper products technology.

Mr. Darby has served as Chair of Stewardship Ontario, the provincial body
that oversees the Blue Box Program, the Canadian Consumer Specialty Products
Association and the Canadian Cosmetics Toiletries and Fragrances Association.
He currently serves on the boards of Opera Ontario, the Juravinkski Cancer
Foundation in Hamilton and Junior Achievement of Central Ontario.
The Ontario Pharmacists' Association is the professional association
representing the views and interests, and advocates for over 10,000 practicing
pharmacists and pharmacists-in-training in Ontario.
