Ontario Home Care Association supports the delivery of high quality home care through a competitive process

    HAMILTON, ON, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - The Ontario Home Care Association (OHCA)
believes that Ontario's home care system is well served by a competitive
process that puts strong emphasis on continuous quality improvement, best
practices and the adoption of benchmarking.
    The OHCA will assist the Minister, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term
Care, health system partners and associations to address any specific issues
of concern in the CCAC procurement process related to consistency. As stated
by the Honourable Elinor Caplan in her 2004 report, Realizing the Potential of
Home Care - Competing for Excellence by Rewarding Results, OHCA believes that
"the best quality home care at the best value through good procurement
practices is achievable."
    OHCA members are committed to delivering quality home care service to
their clients in Hamilton and across the province so that the citizens of
Ontario can continue to be able to live independently and with dignity in
their own homes.
