QUEEN'S PARK, Dec. 17 /CNW/ - Finance Minister Dwight Duncan will launch
his annual Pre-Budget Consultations today in Thunder Bay, the first stop in a
province-wide series that continue the open discussions between the McGuinty
government and the citizens of Ontario.
"Over the last four years, we have strengthened our province by improving
health care, education, job skills training and infrastructure for Ontarians,"
said Duncan. "I look forward to hearing from people across the province about
how we can make Ontario even stronger."
The consultations provide the opportunity for Ontarians to engage in a
discussion with the Minister on ways to strengthen Ontario's economic
prosperity, in advance of the 2008 Budget. Individuals can participate by
sending a submission by mail, e-mail, fax or by participating in
e-consultations on the Ministry of Finance website at www.fin.gov.on.ca.
The next four Pre-Budget Consultations will be held in:
- Sudbury on December 18;
- Niagara Falls on January 7;
- Hamilton on January 8; and
- Stratford on January 9.
Additional sessions are planned for various locations around the province,
including Kitchener-Waterloo, Windsor, Cornwall, Ottawa, Barrie, Oak Ridges
and Toronto. For more information, please visit the Ministry of Finance
website at www.fin.gov.on.ca and click on "2008 Pre-Budget Consultations."
