MONTREAL, Aug. 9 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, the 9th edition of La Fête des
enfants de Montréal, which will be held at Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 18 and
19, unveiled its program in the presence of Mr. Marcel Tremblay, member of the
executive committee of the City of Montréal, in charge of citizen services,
youth and intercultural relations, and of Mr. Serge Rémillard, president of
the board of directors of the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau. Mr. Tremblay
wishes to take this opportunity to emphasize that the City of Montréal is
proud to "collaborate in presenting an event that celebrates family spirit by
evoking values that are important to all Montrealers: solidarity,
accessibility and universality." For his part, Mr. Rémillard adds that this
new site "not only allows us to share a large number of outdoor activities
with our children in an atmosphere of friendly get-togethers, but also helps
them discover the Parc Jean-Drapeau, its attractions and the many
recreational, sports and cultural facilities it has to offer."
A party on the move!
Event spokesperson, actor and host François-Etienne Paré, participated in
La Fête's move to Parc Jean-Drapeau, assisted by a group of children who are
ready to roll up their sleeves and roll out the 2007 program. The park is
decked out in La Fête's colours. "So everything is in place to give our little
and bigger people a unique and unforgettable entertainment experience,"
explains Mr. Paré.
This giant rally brings together more than 50 cultural communities and
invites Montreal families of all origins to take advantage of two full days of
free festivities. In fact, La Fête des enfants invites the young and less
young to have a tremendous time discovering many activities designed to
promote exchanges and get-togethers. Games, sports and educational activities,
creative workshops and shows are all on the program. As every year, a number
of new features have been added to surprise and delight visitors. And what's
more, families will have free access to the Complexe aquatique de l'Ile
Sainte-Hélène, and to the facilities of the park's island partners, the
Biosphère and Stewart Museum.
The official La Fête des enfants de Montréal program, featuring all
