OMA encouraged by IMG announcement

TORONTO, June 6 /CNW/ - The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) is
encouraged by the government's announcement today of new legislative and
regulatory initiatives that will be introduced to reduce barriers and make it
easier for doctors educated outside Ontario and for internationally-trained
physicians to practice in the province. The OMA supports additional
international medical graduates, so long as they are adequately trained and
properly assessed graduates. The OMA welcomes any initiative that will help to
increase the number of physicians practicing in Ontario. Every patient in
Ontario deserves timely access to a doctor.
