OEB Issues Rate Order on Espanola Regional Hydro Distribution Corporation's 2009 Electricity Distribution Rates

    TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board)
issued a Rate Order approving changes to the 2009 electricity distribution
rates for Espanola Regional Hydro Distribution Corporation (Espanola).

    In its application, Espanola sought a payments in lieu of taxes (PILs)
expense of $29,101 be reflected in rates, which the Board found reasonable.
The impact on a typical residential customer's bill, using 1,000 kWh per
month, will be an increase of $0.52 per month effective May 1, 2009.

    The Ontario Energy Board regulates the province's electricity and natural
