TORONTO, April 30 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board)
issued a Rate Order to reflect its Decision on 2009 electricity distribution
rates for Innisfil Hydro Distribution Systems Limited (Innisfil). The new
rates are effective May 1, 2009.
As a result of this Decision and Rate Order, the portion of the bill
associated with the cost to deliver electricity will increase by approximately
16.8% or $7.40 for Innisfil's residential customers using 1,000 kWh per month.
In its application Innisfil had requested an increase of approximately 16.9%.
The delivery portion represents about one-third of the total bill.
Innisfil requested a revenue requirement of $8,241,691 for the 2009 rate
year. As a result of the Board Decision, Innisfil will recover a revenue
requirement of $8,108,455.
In its Decision, the Board accepted Innisfil's proposal which included:
- a $1 million investment for urbanization including voltage
conversion, area improvements and Hydro relocates in the Alcona area
in conjunction with the Town of Innisfil,
- a $900,000 investment to extend a 44kV sub-transmission line to
accommodate load growth,
- a $700,000 investment to rebuild and extend a 44kV sub-transmission
- a $990,000 investment in other system improvements and infrastructure
- increased operation, maintenance and administration costs mainly
attributed to inflation, participation in a provincial safety
program, training, and succession planning to address an aging
